ALAIN ROSTAIN, Founder, Senior Advisor, Innovation Practice
Alain Rostain is the founder and principal of Creative Advantage, a strategic innovation consulting firm. His work has centered on helping clients create business value through the successful implementation of new ideas. He is an expert at idea management implementation, creative thinking and the use of improvisational theater techniques for individual and group effectiveness.

As an undergraduate and graduate student studying Artificial Intelligence at Yale University, Rostain focused on using computers to model and understand creative thinking in people. After being introduced to improvisational theater in 1990, he saw the potential benefits of using improv techniques to develop and support creative thinking and effective performance. Based on this premise, he founded Creative Advantage in 1993. Rostain's firm has serviced dozens of Fortune 500 clients since.

Rostain brings a unique combination of skills from his 20 years of experience in the field of corporate creativity and innovation – including an expertise in designing internet-based tools for innovation assessments, and his use of experiential techniques gained from his background in improvisational theatre. He is editor of the e-zines InnovAgent and Improv-It, and founder of the Applied Improvisation Network. Combining this experience with his expertise in business innovation and software engineering, Rostain stays at the leading edge in bringing innovation consulting, training, assessments and facilitation to his clients in Fortune 100 and 500 companies.

Rostain has taken the lead in making Innovation Styles available to corporations and consultants around the world through his corporate consulting and by automating the evaluation, administration and feedback process. Together, Rostain and Miller have co-founded Innovation Styles, Inc. in order to offer a full-service system to boost innovation for individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide.

Most recently, Rostain founded the Association for the Advancement of Improvisation in Business, the first professional association to bring together practitioners across the globe (www.improvinbiz.org).
